i am from new orleans, louisiana. i moved to china after 2012 to be an english teacher and went through some kind of awakening or spiritual shift. my in 2015, my spiritual growth started speeding up. my spiritual journey started at the age of 7 when i first became a christian. however, i began to slowly explore other philosophy from other religions especially within the last 4 years. when i was a kid, my spirituality came out a lot in my drawing and the music i listened to. at age 7, i drew a lot of birds. i think birds were my spirit animals at the time. haha i also drew egyptian bird gods like horus and ra, the sun god. i also drew egyptian hieroglyphics, osiris, isis, and a lot of pyramids and pharaohs.
at age 10, i drew a lot of horses. my favorite was a palomino. maybe you can guess why i was drawn to horses at the time. that would be an interesting discussion. at age 12, i drew a lot of chinese style dragons and scenes related to china. i practiced martial arts at the time and got into reading about things like chi and feng shui. before coming to china, i started listening to a lot of native american music. i also started seeing images of feathers and butterflies everywhere. i still do. it’s a very spiritual thing for me. now that i am in china, i see a lot of images unicorns as well. haha the gym that i go to is even called unicorn gym.
these days i am the most passionate about expanding my consciousness, manifesting, and becoming the greatest version of myself through my spiritual exploration and growth. i read a lot of books about the mysteries of the universe and about trying to be the master of my own life instead of the ego. not only have i read the bible in the past, i have read many parts of the dao de jing, and the toltec: the four agreements, the kabbala. sometimes it’s hard to find other spiritual people who are also forming their own personal spirituality. so i was hoping to find other people here that i may resonate with spiritually.
